Undergraduate and graduate education is given in Anatomy Department.

Undergraduate Education:

Anatomy lectures for Medical School, Dentistry School,  Pharmacy School  of Marmara University are given by Anatomy Department of Marmara University Medical School.

Postgraduate Education:

2 Year Programs with Thesis:

Master of Science (MSc) Education:

 The candidates apply to MS  education program through  Institute of Health Sciences. IHS of Marmara University performs examinations for the candidates in September and January. The candiates must also hold proficiency in National Postgraduate Education Examination. Time required to complete this post-graduate education is 2 years. Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Biology or Physiotherapy.

 

4 Year Programs with Thesis:

As a regular process of  Higher Education System of  Medical Schools in Turkey, Marmara University School of Medicine Anatomy Department has 4 year fulltime programs for Anatomy: Doctorate (PhD) and Proficiency in Medicine. Both programmes have the same curriculum. ‘Proficiency in Medicine’  for Anatomy  is a Doctorate/EQF-LLL 8 LEVEL/ QF-EHEA 3 LEVEL education in Turkish Higher Education System  (for details http://tyyc.yok.gov.tr/?pid=20 )

Doctorate (PhD) Education:

 PhD degree education is under a joint Anatomy PhD programme with Bezmialem University Medical School. Time required to complete this post-graduate education  is 4 years. Candidates must hold a Medical Doctor Degree, Dentist Degree, Veterinarian Degree or MSc Degree in Anatomy. The candidates apply to  PhD education program through  Institute of Health Sciences. IHS of Marmara University performs examinations for the candidates in September and January. The candiates must also hold proficiency in National Postgraduate Education Examination.

 Proficiency in Medicine (Residency Education Program): 

According to the  national qualifications framework for higher education in Turkey (for details  http://tyyc.yok.gov.tr/?pid=20), Medical School Graduates (6 years = 6 x 60 ECTS = 360 ECTS) who are enrolled in ‘Proficiency in Medicine’  for Anatomy  achieves 600ECT after completion of fulltime 4 year education (4 year x 60 ECTS=240 ECTS) in Anatomy.  Candidates for this program must hold a Doctor of Medicine degree and are accepted through National Medical Specialty Exam of Turkey.
